Gib E lead 5,dummy 2,Gib strangely play 3?

Or East thought that the lead was from K95 and gave at least one of West's aces to South.

I assume this is a typical random Basic Gib play or bid. You get what you pay for. Ace can never lose, even if partner led from K95 and 3 [edit] obviously has zero ways to win.
