I didn't have time to set up a BBF tourney last week because of the USBC vugraph, sorry. And I didn't get to test the howell either, but next one really will be a howell if at all possible.

Until then, another indy for everyone who has logged on the BBO Forums in 2014. I'll be helping Grypho (Kevin Wilson) host a free lecture from 1PM to 2PM on Sunday, so I had to post the tourney after the lecture. Hope the hour is still convenient for most people.

#1827 Ind. BBO Forums Sunday 3PM EDT (9PM CET) now posted. Host: diana_eva
20 boards, 10 rounds, clocked, MPs

Come play, lurkers welcome.

If you are using the web version or the BBO app the tourney will show up on the list of pending tournaments 2 hours before start time.

I have out of town company hear on Amelia Island for Memorial Day. I hope they decide to go to the beach about that time so that I can play. Or maybe I can send them out with the wife on a shopping venture. If either of those happen, I will play. Everyone wants to come to beach this time of year, and surprisingly our temperature is very nice today and predicted to be nice tomorrow.

We managed to get 3 (three) tables this time and it's been really fun playing with and against people we *know*.

Here's the leaderboard if you'd like to see who played (and who won :P ): http://webutil.bridg...1827-1401044459

I couldn't believe we got an average board for 2NT+2 on 14. I opened a strong NT, and partner with 13 HCP and 2=4=3=4 shape, bid 2NT, not Stayman or 3NT. But someone else had a bigger accident: they opened 1 instead of 1NT, ended up defending 2X, and didn't find the defense to beat it.

i gave away a trick on the lead and then i was afraid since i had slipped an overtrick as well, but i could just as well have thrown all my honors out the window and gotten the same result :P

I think that was the board I started kibbing you on, before you subbed me into the game. That hand and the next had pretty wild distribution, I thought it was a goulash tourney.
