I should know better, but I perpetrated the following sequence with GIB: 1S-1N-2C-2N-3H-3S-3N. I find GIBs explanation for my 3N bid to be amusing:

"4+; 4-5; 5-6; 14+ HCP; 18- total points; partial stop in "

Apparently, not only do I have at least 13 cards (maybe more!) in clubs, hearts, and spades, but also I have a little something in diamonds. Cool!

I think 3 should show just 3, else you would rebid it over 1NT

You may be right, but I sometimes wonder. If you have 5-4-0-4 shape then, while there is a possibility of missing a 4-4 Heart fit by rebidding 2C, I think that it is rather more likely that partner has bid 1N with a string of Diamonds but inadequate strength for a 2/1 response. The auction may be rather more controlled after 1S-1N-2C-2D-2H, despite that only 3 Hearts are promised by the 2H bid, than after 1S-1N-2H-3D
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

Currently GIB would bid 2 with priority, so explanation would be corrected to 3-.

Even with hand 54(04) GIB won't skip it.
