Blocking posters

I was under the (possibly mistaken) impression that I could block specified users on the forums, so I wouldn't see anything they post, but I can neither figure out nor find instructions for how to do that. Is such blocking possible, and if so, how?

go to your own personal profile, and the option to manage ignored users is there.

If you did that earlier, however, you wouldn't have gotten this answer:)

You can use the drop-down dialogue box beside your username to go direct.

Oh well... I was hoping that adding the name of a spammer, after he had created one or two threads, would prevent "View New Content" from showing the next 20 threads he creates, but it doesn't work that way.
