bridge software how to run my old programs on windows 8

I have a lot of nice bridge software bought some or maybe quite a long time ago in bridgebase online shop, like "counting at bridge" "private lessons" by Mike Lawrence, but they won't run in the newer Windows versions, even when trying the compatability mode.
Is there any chance that the programs could be updated or does anybody have alternative ideas how I could still run them?
