I quite like low from this combination in principle, but probably not here. If the suit were a minor I would lead low.

The difference is that some of our winning combinations for leading low have been removed, such as 9xxx in dummy and KQ/Kx/Qx in declarer's hand. Low is still the winner on some hands where dummy has two and declarer four small, where dummy has Qx or Kx.

The standard lead from this suit is the jack (or ten playing rusinow or coded leads). In general there is a reason that the standard leads are standard (they are better in a high percentage of hands). This is not to say that leading 4th from such a suit will never win, but it requires particular layouts (typically opener having a four-card holding in this case). With no strong reason to believe that deviating from the standard lead will win in this case, it's better to just lead a normal card.

What is the question, Jilly? If it is a lead question, I would lead the SJ

Not rally a question, it was my bad lead.
