On occasions due sometimes to a Popular event.I come early, sometimes
awaiting a regular pard,on other occasions, viewing other players,
That i may invite-subject to their profile.
Firstly if awaiting pards arrival-i get an invite, but have to use
the Yes-no option.it would be courteous to tick "Another time"
"waiting for reg pard" or BOOKED game.

On the other occasion i am trawling for a pard, when up pops
an invitation, from someone i have never played with,
and it states Novice/beginner again i have to use YES/NO
with no explanation.can we improve this side of things???
regards

Just send them a private message after you decline the invite.

There's a field in the invitation pop-up where you can type a message, which will be sent with the response.

In the web version, at least, I don't know offhand if the download version had it.

I think BBO could do a lot better in this area. Here's what I'd really like to see:

you click on a (pairs) tournament and up comes the dialog box as now, but with a list of all your friends who are available to play in this tournament from which you can select. [Currently, it will pre-select someone you've clicked on]. If, by chance, one of your friends has already registered at the partnership desk for that tournament, it could be so marked.

The problem with the current setup is that you can click on a friends name, invite him or her to play and then wait for a response until it times out [it might be possible to cancel -- I'm not sure]. If that player has already signed up to play in the same tournament (or any upcoming conflicting tournament), you are just wasting your time with the invitation. And people who are already signed up often go away from the keyboard knowing that they have so many minutes before the first hand.

And, while they can politely decline with an explanation that they are booked to play in a tournament, it's not so very easy -- and in any case the system already knows this. So they are disturbed for no good reason.
