Pick a lead.

If partner doubled, would it affect your decision what to lead?

In real life, I'd lead a spade.

So I'll do that here. It's such a normal, boring lead that I know it won't work. Nobody ever posts these hands when a trump lead works.

I'd lead a spade. With a double, I'd lead a heart - partner had a chance to double diamonds and clubs, afer all, and I'm treating this as a lightnerish situation.

Heart lead worked. Partner had

xx
Void
Axxxx
K10xxxx

Partner might've made a Lightner double, but 6NT was cold, so I understand why he didn't.

With a void in heart, an ace and a king and length in both minors I had no fears that 6 NT is making- even if it is making this time...
Kind Regards

I don't see why partner would make a lightner double, the natural lead on this bidding is a heart: the suit I didn't double to ask for a lead

hearts may be the most natural lead but w/o an x, if your p has a reasonable
alternative, they will most likely choose that vs a heart.

Why didn't he double 4? We should be thinking of a save here if not even making one.

I also am sure he should double 6. I really don't think they would ever run to 6NT here. It's plain bad luck that we will probably think he has a diamond void instead of a heart void on our hand.

On the given problem it's close between the red suits. He didn't double 5, but our diamonds offer more potential than our hearts. I might well have gone with diamonds since our wasted club strength is pretty hopeless.

Double 4 or show the minors? My p and I sat East-West for this board and the auction was 1S-3NT*(some splinter, 9-11)-(4NT*(minors))-6S-AP. Here a dbl is unambiguous but opener is much more likely to be able to pull to 6NT. But North certainly supported your eagerness to look for a save.

if partner bid 4NT to show minors and all I hld was Qxxx QJxx in his suits I would not be pleased to pass 6, maybe I would do it afaid of 7 making but most likelly I would not pass, specially not quickly.
