First round of your local green pointed swiss teams. Half of opponents's team haven't showed up and so the directors substitute in. A director call comes when you're declarer, so LHD (left hand director) goes off to attend. Partner offers to play the defence for that hand, accepted by your RHD.

Annoyingly he defended well, and we lost 2 imps on the board.
