Assume std carding, but also interested in udca signals.
if you play std carding and you are dealt:

KJ10

on a suit that partner leads or switchs to, and dummy or declarer raises with the Ace, what card do you use for encourage?

Same but you have KJ109

or you have AQJ10 and want to discard for partner to play this suit.

I would play the J and the Q in your examples. The J denies the Q, the T denies the J, etc..

However, I had this issue come up on Thursday. Dummy had Q9xxx and I had JTx. Its not hard to work out, but as a matter of agreement, we split lowest from 2 and we play udca. Should I play the T or the J?
