I'm tired of watching GiB go down in cold contracts. It's even more frustrating than watching me go down in cold contracts. Since the Robot tourneys are test of player skill, why not let the player declare all hands played by his side?

Isn't it also a test of skill in bidding? If you're not that great a declarer, it might be good strategy to anti-hog the hand.

And in Robot Race/Reward tourneys, speed is of the essence. Even if it doesn't play better than me, it often plays faster.

Apparently, this has been implemented. How did I miss the announcement?

Why not just give the player the auction and contract and get him to be declarer on every hand? It's just an extension of the philosophy of "best hand" robot tournaments.

Because we didn't make one. :)

We only enabled this feature in one series of tourneys (free robot duplicate), to test the waters. I expect we'll be more public about it when we expand it to the more popular tourneys.

Maybe it could be tested on the upcoming "play with GIB for free day"...
