I really want to know what 2N is. It seens bizarre/impossible that 2N could be natural in this sequence.

And I obviously really need to know the requirements for 1N. Is it always a reasonable 55? if so I have a pretty good hand and should bid more than 3d maybe. If it can be 54 i would presume always longer diamonds, as I like to get a natural spade overcall in with 5 spades and 4 diamonds.

Sorry, you have all the relevant information available.
  • You told your opponents that partner's 1N shows and . Presumably, that is as far as you have discussed the meaning of the bid.
  • 2N was not alerted, so you assume that it is natural

If pd can be 5-4 i am only bidding 3, if at least 5-5 by agreement then 4 . If pd has short clubs we actually have chances.

3. By a passed hand, this should show a hand competing in one of partner's suits but wanting a club lead. Second choice pass.

If you bid 3 , it's your fault if partner lets through 4 on a diamond lead.

Your partners must be under strict instructions to have very good playing hands to come in W vs R. I personally give my partners a little slack at MP's. But then I don't like playing against your type :)
