i was tempted to raise 2 to 3, so imagine my surprize when 2 got doubled and passed back to me.

I guess LOTT suggest not raising to 3, but I really wanted to raise to three. The other table played a partscore in hearts making 10 tricks (looks like 9 is the limit).

At our table the hand went:

So no T2 ruff meant +170.

I'm not sure this is the right line, but at your table if you assume that N has the length in spades for the pass of the bal double, can't you make it?

After 5 tricks you are in the W hand with AJ765 8 J 8 opposite K - T86 AT74 and you ruffed a heart. If instead you played club to the A, ruff a club, now heart ruff, ruff a club, and now A of spades and a diamond and you endplay N.

Not even necessary just exit a diamond without cashing the SA at the point declarer was at and it was home by ruffing the next trick and exiting a low spade

The play says that you made 7 tricks, and you say that opps made 10 tricks in a H partial and the title says small swing for BBO forum?
2SX should have been made?

We (the forum sitting N/S) made 3+1 for +170 N/S at the other table.
Forums were -100 for 2X-1 W at the OP's table.

So that was 2 imps in.

I couldn't make it because I was dummy. But everyone is right, the contract appears it can be made if west exits with the diamond jack when he is down to all trumps and the diamond jack. Then, plays for the trump endplay in an ending similar to the trump endplay missed on "comedy of errors hand" (board 22).

Or just don't release the A. This hand looks similar to one later.
