Hello, I was going to ask mods to move my thread http://www.bridgebas...829%3B-with-me/ to the new N/B forum. I clicked on "Report this post" and noticed in the fine print:

Quote

This form is to be used ONLY for reporting objectionable content and is not to be used as a method of communicating with moderators for other reasons.

Does this reflect actual BBF policy or is it just boilerplate left in from the authors of the forum software?

And, in what way is the post to be deemed "objectionable?" What if a post offends my bridge sensibilities or is inconsistent with my sense of humor?
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

I think it's just boilerplate. All it does is send a message to the moderators regarding the post, it doesn't do anything to the poster's reputation or rating.

And "objectionable" is whatever the reporter deems it is. Of course, if the moderators disagree, we may not take any action in response to the report. So frivolous reports are likely to be a waste of time.

I use "objectionable" to mean the latter. Typically I report personal attacks outside the Water Cooler.
