Has anyone, other than me, noticed an epidemic of the lead of low from 2 small on the opening lead? Opp. playing standard carding and leads.

i've noticed this, but it's been going on for awhile.. it seems to work sometimes when you have Hx in a suit, because often it leads declarer astray

Are you sure it was std leads ? maybe they say 2/4 because low from xx is still second best.

This is not an epidemic. Many players have adopted this as part of an integrated system of leads, especially if you dislike MUD.
Low from xx is standard for most Polish players. Look at Slawinski's Combine leads for example.

I lead low from two small...and not only on opening lead... I play 2/4 leads.. that is, I lead 4th best or 2nd best. There are several rules for when I lead which, but from two small, I lead smallest.

I've notice a large increase from pairs in my area. None about a year ago, 3 or 4 pairs now. All of them are playing something close to The_Hog's link.

Thank you for comments on polish/2-4. Please note opp cards said standard or nothing, not 2/4 or polish leads. Asked a few times..only comments were standard leads in chat line.
