Match points

After you made the dubios 1NT overcall, opponents play 3 and you lead A

Partner plays 9 (UDCA) and declarer plays J

DQ to take out his entry to the long heart. I don't see how this can cost.

I can see how the Queen of diamonds can cost, one example would be Ax,QJxx,x,AKQxxx.

Partner has 1,3 or 4 hearts.
I play the king of hearts. If he has one, I win emmedeately.
If partner has three hearts, I will take his second card as suit preference.
If partner has four hearts, I may have lost a tempo, but which tricks are running away in that case?
Kind Regards

Roland

Was partner playing UDCA too?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
