i wouldn't say this was an especially tough decision - i just made the wrong one , although possibly the right one looking at 52 cards ('looking at 52 cards'? an unfortunate phrase for a JEC match. at least after losing by 30 noone's going to accuse us of cheating though)

4 seems clear. I have a lot more than I promised - a fifth heart, the Q - and pard is inviting game. How can I turn down the invite?

I would have doubled on the prior round.

I would have bid 3!h after the first dble. Feels like I have a good hand opposite 54 spades, and I passed 2D so partner cannot get too crazy. 2H does not show much, fifth heart and Qx in partners suit, and 4 diamonds is pretty good here too.

Having passed twice is really good here, as over 2d I could have bid on 8-10 with 5 decent hearts since I already passed, and I could have doubled with a similar strength and 4 hearts. So 3 hearts over dble now surely shows 5-7 with 5 hearts or something.

I'd have doubled 2, then I'd have jumped to 3, and now I bid game.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

my decision would be to jump over partner's take out double, maybe wank knows from my posting that I reopen with double with almost anything :)

Well 4 made at the other table, partner had:

Axxxx
AQ10
Q
KQxx

Hearts are 4-1 but J is stiff so 8 becomes very important. Simon could defeat the contract if he guessed to lead a trump.
