How well GIB plays at the moment compared to humans in BBO tournaments?

GIB is prone to making mistakes that a lot of humans will say, "that's SO terrible, no human would ever do that." That said, when it is not making mistakes (and it doesn't make them too often) it plays the cards better than something like 90% of the BBO members and bids according to its system (it's not too good at improvising when it needs to).

I was hoping someone would have hard numbers available, because GIB plays lots of hands versus people in BBO all the time.

The last time we did a meaningful test (a couple of years ago) GIB averaged roughly 55% in ACBL Robot Duplicate games. I would guess that this is better than over 90% of the field. I would guess that the quality of that field would be considerably stronger than a random selection of BBO members.

GIB has certainly improved since that time.

I would say that GIB plays at BBO Expert level.
