What now? How close do you think it is?

It's possible you had a decent club pip, like the 8 or something - I've just put low cards in where I wasn't certain what the pips were.

Partner would have passed with even a decent 12 or 13 points, so it makes sense to do something here.

If you double, he's unlikely to bid spades, and spades are likely to be your best route to game.

I'd bid 4.

Good problem. I always double on these hand types at IMPs but I don't have a strong feeling that it is best. At matchpoints I would bid 4 though.

Yeah I also think it's an easy 4S. Our hand/spades are very good for a 5-3 fit which we will never reach if we double. Even if we reach a 5-2 fit it could be right.
