The GIB convention card linked at http://bridgebase.co...ystem_notes.php shows honor leads to be standard. In particular, against NT, the systemic lead from KQT9 is the queen, asking for count or unblock.

GIB led the king.

GIB leads, in general, promise little. As another contributor recently said if GIB were human it would be made an enemy.

However obscure GIB programming might be, surely it is worth fixing opening leads once and for all, not one issue at a time.

This was reported several months ago, with no real response...

I'm not sure what's going on. I just checked its opening leads table, and this is definitely in there.

Any idea as to why this is still happening? Presumably, KQT9 is lower on the priority list than simply KQ. Of course, then you'd want to teach GIB when to drop his J...

Or can the documentation/convention card be changed to reflect reality?

I missed this thread before, but I have always led K from KQT or AKJ v NT and expected unblock, and I thought that was standard. Maybe it's a geographical thing.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

It is entirely a geographical thing.

The ACBL convention card shows the K as the standard lead from this combination vs suit contracts, with the Q standard vs. NT. So yes, the lead of the K vs 1NT is non-standard.

In the USA the standard vs. NT is Ace asks for unblock or count, K asks for attitude.

I assume the K held the trick, what did GIB play at Trick 2?

I would have passed this hand out like a shot.

Can't you click the "Next" button to see what happened on subsequent tricks?
