I use BBO client version 5.2.6 After years of use I have started getting a problem.....
I continually get a message that "Bridge Base Online has downloaded a new version and is ready to install it"
Then I get an error box saying it "Setup can not create the following folder: /robots/gib"
Setup then fails... no other option. (I can supply screenshots of the message boxes)
I'm happy to continue the version i have: works fine. But I can't switch off automatically trying to update?

I use Windows XP and Firefox

I have another laptop running the same version: using Windows Vista and Firefox. Not experiencing the same problem. Runs perfectly still.

Any help, suggestions? (I prefer the Client graphics and functionality to working on the browser webpage! So will keep using it if I can)

Thanks, Tom

It will try three times then surrender. It is trying to update the robots, not a critical update.

Try re-downloading the program. I think the updater has problems dealing with the security settings of modern versions of Windows.

Thanks all... I'll try downloading again. (I didn't know the Client download was still available). I think I've found instructions to it on another post.

However mine didn't stop trying to update after 3 attempts ... It's been trying many times for a few weeks now (and checked again today), which is why I tried asking here.

Thanks again for the help. Tom :)

OK, I've also told the system to stop bugging you about the upgrade.
