It's kinda sad that people have to resort to creating multis just to downvote other people and/or upvote themselves. A game I used to play called GXC had a problem with multis, and while they won't admit it, it played a major role in killing the website. While I don't think it will ever reach that point of widespread anarchy, a few users will be inconvenienced by people attacking them. To make a counterargument, at least the admins here are more proactive and will actively ban.

Because of this flame war, I had an idea. Hopefully before uday and Rain collaborate and decide against the downvoting, I will create a thread where I ask for 3 different things and see what happens, in the nature of an experiment. The results might prove useful, as I don't think I have any enemies or admirers (at least I know I don't have any admirers on here).

EDIT - I wanted to give an upvote to uday, but apparently you can't vote for admins' posts. What up with that?

The silliest thing is you have no idea to see which of your posts have been upvoted. If you post a lot, you can just see your rep go up but might have no idea which posts people liked/upvoted, so it doesn't help much for positive reinforcement. Even if it remains anonymous, you should be able to see which of your posts get upvoted when it happens via some sort of notification.

This basic problem still has not been solved.

The dark ages of downvoting.

I was busy away from BBOF creating a family and that. I never had a chance to enjoy downvoting :(

I don't always give downvotes, but when I do it is a four year necro.

I'm sorry for the necro, I was hoping people wouldn't browse too deep in the thread and just got their upvotes in peace and left.

I see, is this how folks get such stellar reputations?

I think it is the first I got this way. The earlier alternative was to be posting when Lurpoa was in upvote mode and hide when she went on a downvoting spree.

gwnn handing out upvotes in this thread doesn't preclude me handing out upvotes right?

No, but it does make me wish to have downvotes back. :P
