What is
1-(1NT)-3

Scoring: MP

What do you bid with the above hand after 1-(1NT)? If this is a clear 4 bid for you then suppose you have same distribution but a limit raise (if that exists).
My partner argued that 3 can logically not be weak when vulnerable.

This is a clear 4C bid to me, allowing partner to do the right thing over 4S.

Anyway, I still think 3H is 'weak', and with a limit raise you have to start with a double. It's true that when vulnerable a pre-emptive 3H bid will have more playing strength than when non-vulnerable, but it's still based on fit and distribution, not on high cards.

Agree, easy 4 bid for me.

The only forcing bid you have over a 1NT overcall is a qbid i.e. 2NT. You certainly need to consider X. 3 must be highly distributional but non-forcing. Any suit bid suggests IMO no fit (unless agreed otherwise) and is preemptive. So your choices look like 4 or X and the club suit makes IMO 4 a little better
