Where are these "10 top tricks" referred to on page 42? If you mean with 5 successful finesses you score 10 tricks, then we have a different definition of "top tricks."

I've always wanted to put together a bridge movie on here. If we could hyper-text our way to additional pages maybe...

I hope you thanked your LHO for forgetting to count tricks.

Yes. Nice effort put into this. I went for the wimpy +50.

After 2S X 4S, do we X on partner's hand? Is X here penalty, or convertable take-out?

If I knew that X from partner was 2 trump tricks and an AKQ on the side, I would pass, but expecting it to be take-out ish I pulled and went for -500

Yes his responsive double is quite bad.

Jumps to 4, 5-5 in the soft suits. I'm only -200 I guess.

Now partner has the option giving the opponents a speeding-ticket, if they bid 4.

It WAS inspired by those books many of us read as kids. Certainly not the best hand for it since Pass-Pass is too attractive/boring but thx for the compliments.

I saw this in the 'Tricky hand' thread and decided to give it a bump because I think it's pretty cool. FWIW, I would go +50. Mike Lawrence wouldn't bid with this garbage, and so neither did I.

I have been actually thinking for the last month to make a website where this kind of problems can be made easilly, including card play. It would be wonderful for learning. I've been thinking about the design and I think it is not so hard, perhaps I'll try after transnational if I get some time.

Good idea but I thought the execution was poor since passing twice seemed obvious to me
