At the table, your partner does everything he can to help you - opening lead conventions, signals, etc.

With GIB, your partner leads and plays based on the assumption that you can magically guess which suit he wants you to switch to without any signals.

True, but everyone has the same handicap. You have to make it easy for them and fall back on logic.

Yeah. Just most of the time it comes down to random guesses - with one guess being the difference between 0% and 100% on the board.

So would you rather have a guess due to a robot that pitches 12 IMPs or one board? Thats the IMPs / MPs argument.

As far as best hand, well its true that keeping their hands off defense is sensible, but it also means not being able to apply an exploitive strategy to best hand.

Yeah, thus my earlier comment about best-combined-hands being the best of both worlds, if that were possible one day.

agree whole heartedly.

defending with pd who is not giving or following signals is a complete waste of time.

personally my best boards with robots are usually when defending. it just means i might have above average skill to figure something in caos. but it is not fun all all. :)

If these have been in best hand tournaments, you have some extra information that declarer doesn't -- they don't know it's best hand, but you have a good idea of the point distribution, and often know that they're bidding on distribution.

In a non-BH game the robots you're more likely to defend, and you'll be without this advantage. And you also don't have a partner who's trying to help you.

The point is not what advantage he has over the robot declarer, but what he has over the other human defenders. In principle, we all have the same information as defenders, but in practice, most of us ignore most of it. ;)
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
