Hi all,

I want to know some easy ways to handle interferences of your weak NT.

My regular pd and me, we play:
1 NT X (penalty)
           2 Club (5+ clubs or two suiter without clubs)
                      (after a new X, you run in your lowest suit
                         if you don`t have clubs)
            XX any two suiter with clubs
            pass lets try 1NT  X
            any suit: natural
            2 NT forcing

after other interferences, we play rumpelsohl

Other ideas?

Kind Regards

Roland

I play weak NT with an assortment of partners in real life and utilize many runouts.  Here is what i play in order of preference;

a) Cooperative Runouts (http://www.gg.caltec...ystem/coop.html)

:) Brozel Runouts (Cant find reference off hand, but try - http://home.nikocity...nt/ALLKONV.HTM)

- 2C=C/H
- 2C=D/H
- 2H=H/S
- 2S=S/minor (long S)
- reX->2C for one suited runouts
- Pass->reX for business or C/D, C/S, D/S

c) Christian (simple runouts - cant find documentaion)

- 2C/2D/2H-> xfers
- reX->2C for clubs or stayman (if bid 2D after 2C)
- Pass->reX for runouts into 4 card suits

d) Moscow/Reverse Moscow

e) Swine

Sebesfi and Woods 1NT extraction - Swine - works well.

1NT (X) XX forces 2C to show any s/s
           2? shows a touching 2 suiter
           P forces xx, now a suit shows a non-touching 2 suiter
          2NT shows some freak 2 suiter

I 've played this for many years. It's called FITS(Fisher Invitational Transfers)

Pass is forcing on opener to RDBL. A RBL By me would be a transfer to Clubs. Other bids are transfers (2C = diamonds,2D= Hearts,etc). If I pass and partner RDBL as required, I can pass to play I NT RDBL. or bid a suit with Brozel responses. 2C = Clubs and Hearts, 2D = Diamonds and Hearts, 2H = Hearts and Spades, 2 Spades = Spades + a minor
Please do not complain about my opinion. I don't have the time to convince you I'm right.

Hi. I been using a DONT system instead of Brozel and simply avoiding the 2S bid as too high. Not sure which is better. Rest is about the same, I.e., pass is strong, rdbl weak and shows a one-suiter, etc.

Zelandakh, you're the one that got me started searching for your Puppet system, lol!

Haha, guilty as charged! This thread came from that? Interesting. There are some more recent ones giving pretty much the entire structure though - maybe if I get a chance I will try to find one myself. B-)

The PoorBridge crowd used to advocate a system I yearn to play with a willing partner:

  • XX is for blood.
  • Pass forces XX, which is for blood.
  • Look into the whites of their eyes, and see who's most likely to cave under the pressure of the passout seat

I'm told it works less well online.

Okay, I give up. Wherever those posts/threads are, they're buried.
